We are always on the look out for new members and volunteers who do an amazing job in keeping our club running. So if you are interested in taking part, whether as an active member or in any other role (for example managing, officiating, directing, coaching) then please complete the short form below.
Before riders can join the Sulis Scorpions Youth Cycling Alliance they are required to complete a 4 week induction course. These are held at regular intervals and the cost is £10.00 for the 4 weeks (see our events page). This gives the coaches the opportunity to ensure the riders have the required skills and techniques prior to joining one of the coaching groups on completion. In some instances riders can be fast tracked into the coaching groups if they can demonstrate previous experience at the start of the induction course. Currently we can only take children from the age of 7 to 16 years old. Once we have more trained coaches we will consider starting a younger age group but at present we do not have that capacity.
The annual membership fee has been combined with the monthly session fees and is payable once a rider successfully completes the induction course and joins a coaching group.
No fee for Junior Members aged 16 to 18 years who act as regular volunteers or coaches. Junior riders who take part in coaching sessions will continue to pay the combined annual membership and monthly session fees.
No fee (Senior Membership is for over 18 year olds who act as regular volunteers or coaches).
Combined Annual Membership and Monthly Session Fees
Sulis Scorpion riders are encouraged to attend sessions regularly rather than on an ad-hoc basis; combined Membership & Session fees are therefore monthly and are £ 9.00 per month. The monthly fee has been calculated on the basis of the SSYCA delivering 43 sessions per year and this cost has been averaged out over 12 months. The number of sessions offered per month will vary between two and five depending on the number of weekends in a month, school and bank holidays. Monthly fees are payable even if the rider is unable to attend due to family holidays, illness or for other reasons. If monthly fees are outstanding for a period of two months then the rider will be removed from the coaching group and their place will be offered to another rider on the waiting list.
Payment of Combined Annual Membership and Monthly Session Fees
Monthly fees are to be paid by Standing Order. Cash/Cheques will only be accepted in exceptional circumstances.
To enable you to set up a Standing Order, bank details are available by emailing the treasurer firstname.lastname@example.org
