These are some of the races going on at the moment locally, and some information about the tools available to find races around Bath. We will update and highlight races via email or Facebook as and when we find out, but please do use Facebook to share any race you find, as I’m sure many Scorpions will find that useful.
Circuit races (Road cycling)
British cycling has a very powerful event finder tool on their website: https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/events/home
The main series of youth racing going on around Bath at the moment are the Castle Combe Summer Series. These races happen every Thursday evening at the Castle Combe circuit near Bath. Their youth races start at 7 pm and have all the age categories from U8 to U16. Search for castle combe in the British cycling event finder to find each week’s race.
Bath is within the Western Cyclo-cross League. At the moment the summer series are going on. These races take place every Wednesday evening. They have U12 (19:00), and U14 and U16 (19:30) races. Time trials are regulated by the CTT organisation (the national governing body in the UK for time trials). They have a Minimum Age restriction policy: “The minimum age for competitors is 12 years. It is essential that competitors under 18 know the law and the Highway Code, and are competent to ride on public roads alone. They must have the authorisation of their parents to compete.”
